Delayed Start
The HU game is a bit delayed at the moment as they have 19 entries and are waiting to see if they get any more. So far, it looks like a pretty serious field with players like Haven and Thomas Taylor, Stephen Dauphinais, Nicholas Peterson, Michael “Berny” Bernstein, Weston Pring, Jo Teliani, Roman Brar, Mal Hagan, and Paul Sokoloff among the players waiting for the start.

174 Unofficial Entries for Seniors
Level: 9 (600/1200/1200) Entries: 99/174 Prizes: $49,590 Entries are now closed for the Seniors with 174 on the board. I am still waiting on confirmation of those numbers, but if they hold, it should mean 18 players getting a piece of nearly $50k in prizes today.
Once the official prize pool is posted, I’ll be able to confirm all the numbers.

164 Entries for Seniors in Final Level of Entry
Level: 8 (500/1000/1000) Entries: 119/164 Prizes: $46,740 There are just under 20 minutes to play in Level 8, and entries will close for the Seniors game when they sit down for Level 9. That means there are just over 30 minutes left to get into the game today.
As mentioned, the room is full of familiar faces — a few others I have noticed include Cindy Kerslake, Pam MacNaighton, Suzie Markoff, Jacqueline Ray, Julius Roque, WIllie Hernandez, and Francis Krulicki, who was on the final table of the Deepstack yesterday, finishing 10th.

Have Taylor & Ed Zurawell Take Team Event after Deal
Event: #6: $450 NLH Team ($400 + $50 per team) Dates: Nov 10, 6 pm Entries: 38 Prizes: $15,200 Winner: Haven Taylor & Ed Zurawell ($5,500 after deal) It was s a busy day on Sunday with three events on the schedule, and as predicted, I bandwidth tapped out with the first two events. I was unable to watch much of the action in this one and essentially only got over to it for the winner’s photo.
The final two teams decided to do an ICM chop at the end of the night with team Taylor/Zurawell securing the win and the big prize of $5,500 while team Brotherwood/Lupton got $4,753 for their night’s work.
The final results for the Team game are under the payouts tab and also listed below.
Place Player Prize 1 Haven Taylor & Ed Zurawell $5,500 2 Shane Brotherwood & Graham Lupton $4,753 3 CHRIS DOLLIVER + Adam $2,600 4 DON MCCALL + TREENNA HEYDON $1,588 -
Heads Up on the Side for Monday
Event: #8: $1,100 Heads Up Dates: Nov 11, 4 PM Blinds: 20 Minutes Start Stack: 15k Late Entry: No Late Entry Day 1 Ends: One-Day Event The side game on Monday is a heads up battle for $1,100. The action kicks off at 4 pm and there is no late entry or rebuys for this one because of the HU format.
The structure says that players start with 10k in chips, but tournament director Landon Lacroix just informed me the decision has been made to bump that up to 15k to start, so players will start the matches with 150 big blinds as the action begins at 50/100. There are no antes in play for this tournament.
I will do my best to keep up with this one, but the Seniors game is also happening, so my attention will be a bit divided today.

Good Turnout for Seniors
Level: 5 (300/500/500) Entries: 135/135 Prizes: $38,475 The Seniors have just returned from their first break of the day and the turnout has been pretty good with 135 entires on the board and about 2 hours left to get into the game.
The field is full of familiar faces so I won’t go through a complete list now or we’ll be here all day, but among the players I’ve spotted today are Pete Fylyma, Paul Sokoloff, David Labchuk (who has two seniors rings from local WSOP action), Bill Thomson, Mike Lonigro, Rob Lothian, Scott Calvank, and Fred Balic.
That barely scratched the surface of the faces I recognize, but I’ll add more names later on.

Stephen O’Bertos & Michael St. Pierre-Porter Chop Event #5
It was a spirited heads up match that saw the chips fly around pretty freely. Michael St. Pierre-Porter looked like he was on a run to the win when they got heads up as he had a huge chip lead.
But poker, especially heads up, is a game of variance, and O’Bertos wouldn’t die. He doubled a very short stack a couple of times to stay alive, then got into a small lead before St. Pierre-Porter got it back again.
O’Bertos was finding cards when he had to, however, at one point spiking a nine against pocket tens to hit his underset and stay alive, as well as a hand where he went runner-runner Broadway to catch a double.
For his part, St. Pierre-Porter was also running pure throughout the final table. He had the lead most of the way, not least because he busted the first three players from the table on his own. He had several chances to win it against O’Bertos, but variance kept kicking him back down again.
The set of nines was the hand that gave O’Bertos a big lead, but St. Pierre-Porter put on a show of his own, doubling back to even. It was at that point the players decided to call it a night with an even chop of the money.

Back to Even
Level: 22 (15000/25000/25000) Entries: 2/124 Prizes: $35,340 Michael St. Pierre-Porter jammed from the button and Stephen O’Bertos called it off. St. Pierre-Porter had ace-ten against queen-jack, but he flopped his ace and held for the double. That put them pretty much even in chips, and they are now talking deal.
The players decided to make an even money chop and call it a night. Stay tuned for the final recap shortly.

O’Bertos to the Lead
Level: 22 (15000/25000/25000) Entries: 2/124 Prizes: $35,340 Stephen O’Bertos just “sucked out” to the lead, in his own words. It was a four-bet all in from Michael St. Pierre-Porter and a call from O’Bertos that saw St. Pierre-Porter’s pocket tens look set to end the night against the nines for O’Bertos. A nine on the flop changed all that and gave O’Bertos a double to about 2 million and the big lead now.

O’Bertos Goes Runner-Runner to Stay Alive
Level: 21 (10000/20000/20000) Entries: 2/124 Prizes: $35,340 It was all in preflop with Michael St. Pierre-Porter on ace-three of hearts versus Stephen O’Bertos’ king-queen off. St. Pierre-Porter hit his ace on the flop, but then O’Bertos ran out to Broadway with jack-ten on the turn and river to secure his straight.
He then doubled a second time with ace-jack over pocket threes when he flopped an ace and turned another one. St. Pierre-Porter still has the lead, but O’Bertos isn’t going down lightly.
-
O’Bertos Flops It
Level: 21 (10000/20000/20000) Entries: 2/124 Prizes: $35,340 It all went in before the flop when Stephen O’Bertos raised to 55k, then snap-called when Michael St. Pierre-Porter shoved the big stack. O’Bertos had A♥5♥ against the off0suit king-queen for St. Pierre-Porter. It was pretty much over on the 4♣2♠3♣ flop that gave O’Bertos the wheel.
-
Kyle Dery Out in 3rd Place for $4,948
Level: 21 (10000/20000/20000) Entries: 2/124 Prizes: $35,340 What started as a family pot ended with Kyle Dery heading to the cage. Dery raised the button to 32k and both players called to the 9♦8♥3♣ flop where things went a bit crazy.
Michael St. Pierre-Porter checked before Stephen O’Bertos bet 9k. Kyle Dery came over the top to 75k, but St. Pierre-Porter put in the check-shove with the big stack. O’Bertos let his hand go, but Dery snap-called with ace-nine only to run into the nine-eight for St, Pierre-Porter, who is running extremely hot tonight.
-
Down to 3
Level: 20 (8000/16000/16000) Entries: 3/124 Prizes: $35,340 The final anonymous player just hit the rail in fourth place for $3,534 to bring the game to three left.
-
Down to 4
Level: 19 (6000/12000/12000) Entries: 4/124 Prizes: $35,340 They are down to four left now after one of the anonymous players hit the rail in 5th place tonight for $2,474.
-
Jeremy Graham Out in 6th Place for $1,767
Level: 19 (6000/12000/12000) Entries: 5/124 Prizes: $35,340 They are down to five now after Jeremy Graham got his remaining chips in with queen-ten but ran into pocket queens for Stephem O’Bertos. Graham was short after doubling O’Bertos up a couple fo hands earlier, and the queens held to send him to the rail in 6th place.
-
Couple of Doubles
Level: 19 (6000/12000/12000) Entries: 6/124 Prizes: $35,340 There was just two doubles in a row. Stephen O’Bertos grabbed a double through Jeremy Graham when action checked through to the river on a queen-high board and O’Bertos shoved the river. Graham called with an underpair but O’Bertos’ queen was good for the win. In the next hand, the two remaining anonymous players went to war with eights versus sixes and the eights held.
-
St. Pierre-Porter Leading
Level: 19 (6000/12000/12000) Entries: 6/124 Prizes: $35,340 They are down to 6 left now in the One-Day Deepstack game and Michael St. Pierre-Porter has gone on a tear, busting all players from the table so far. Dolant Limbago, Jaqueline Ray, and Curtis Singleton are the players out from ninth to seventh places.
In the case of Ray, she jammed with jacks over a raise from St. Pierre-Porter and he called off with ace-queen. The flop was safe for Ray, but St. Pierre-Porter spiked his ace on the turn and held for the win.
