Pure Poker Tour Series #6 – Event #16: $340 Last Chance NLH

As 2024 winds down, the Alberta poker scene is heating up with the final series of the Pure Poker Tour (PPT) season. The trophy events kick off at Pure Casino Yellowhead on November 21 with the Seniors First event, followed by 11 days of action-packed poker, and highlighted by the $1,100 Main Event starting on November 29.

  • 126 Entries Confirmed for Last Chance

    Level:9 (600/1200/1200)
    Entries:55/126
    Prizes:$35,910

The final entry on the 2024 PPT has been recorded and the Last Chance game ended up with 126 entries, for the second biggest one-day field of the series. That means 13 players will divide up $35,910 later tonight.

It’s still up in the air whether I’ll have a chance to cover this one or not. The Main Event is already down to 10, but I expect play to slow considerably once they are at the final table, so that game likely still has at least 5 hours or more to play. With 30 minute blinds in this one, however, it’s at least possible this will still be running when the Main finishes.

  • Less than 20 Minutes to Enter

    Level:8 (500/1000/1000)
    Entries:54/123
    Prizes:$35,055

It’s almost the last chance to buy into the past Chance game today with Level 8 ticking down to the second break. Entries are still open until they sit down for Level 9 in a bit more than 15 minutes with the field currently at 123 entries and 54 players still in action.

  • 79 Entries at First Break

    Level:4 (200/400/400)
    Entries:55/79
    Prizes:$22,515

The side game is on it’s first break of the day now with the end of Level 4. The field is at 79 entries for more than $22k in prizes and there are still 55 players in the action fighting for a piece of it.

  • Up to 70 Entries

    Level:4 (200/400/400)
    Entries:54/70
    Prizes:$19,950

The side game is up to 70 entries with the start of Level 4. They’ll go on their first break of the day following this level, then return for 4 more levels of poker before the end of entries at the start of Level 9.

  • 38 Entries in Level 2

    Level:2 (100/200/200)
    Entries:35/38
    Prizes:$10,830

The side game is underway with the first level of play already complete. Level 2 has just begun with 38 entries on the board and 35 still in play. I won’t be watching this one very closely while Day 2 of the Main is running but if the Main finishes earlier than this one, I’ll finish my night here. My guess is that this one finishes first, however, so I don’t expect to get much coverage done on this final event of the 2024 PPT.

  • Final Event is the Last Chance NLH

    Event:Event #16: $340 Last Chance NLH ($300 + $40)
    Date:Dec 1, 2 PM
    Blinds:30 Minutes
    Starting Stack:25k
    Late Entry:8 Levels (~6:45 PM)
    Day 1 Ends:One-Day Event

The final PPT for 2024 is nearly complete with the final event running Sunday at 2 PM. The Last Chance NLH is $340 to get in and players start with 25k in chips to play 30-minute levels until a winner is decided.

Entries are open until the start of Level 9 which puts the cutoff time for entries at about 6:45 PM Sunday. This is a one-day event that plays until someone has all the chips.

Day 2 of the Main Event will be running alongside this one so I won’t be paying too much attention to the Last Chance tomorrow, at least not until later in the evening. If the Main Event finishes up early, I’ll finish my night on the endgame in this one, but this may well finish before the Main, in which case I’ll likely only be updating numbers and trying to get a winners photo done.
