Pure Poker Tour Series #6 – Event #2: $230 NLH Turbo

It was a quick heads up tonight with Larry Quon emerging the winner. I caught the aftermath of the final hand where Michael St. Pierre-Porter flopped a pair and rivered a straight, but it was a smaller straight than Larry Quon. Quon had the chip lead when it all went in and took down the top prize tonight.

They are heads up now after Suru Patel ended his day in 3rd place. Michael St. Pierre-Porter has the lead over Larry Quon.

They are down to 3 left and more of the chips are in front of Michael St. Pierre-Porter. He shoved his big blind with king-deuce and Matthew Ouellette called with aces, but the smaller stack.

Oullette looked good to double but St. Pierre-Porter flopped a pair, turned two pair, and rivered the boat for a huge cooler win.

They are down to 4 left after the exit of Tyler Rumple in 5th place. Larry Quon looks to have the edge in chips right now, but most of the chips are in front of him and Michael St. Pierre-Porter. I’m still watching the Seniors game, and it looks like this one might end before that game.

They are down to 9 remaining in the Turbo on the break following Level 15. They are breaking down to the final table during the break and they’ll return for Level 16 in about 10 minutes with action on the money bubble.

They are down to 12 remaining in the Turbo game now with Level 14 drawing to a close. That puts them four off the money spots for tonight and three away from the final table.

They are down to 14 players left in the Turbo game now, 6 off the money. Level 14 has just begun.

Entries are closed for the Turbo game with 75 confirmed entries. That [uts the prizes at $14,250 with 8 players getting a share of that later tonight and the winner set to pocket more than $4,800.

Turbo Payouts

There are just over 10 minutes to play in Level 9 and this is the final level of poker before registration closes. Entries will still be open through the break following this level, but will be closed when they sit down for Level 10.

They are about 10 minutes away from the first break of the day with the field now at 39 entries and 29 players still in the action. That puts the prizes at just over $7.4k with entries open for another 2 hours.

Level 2 is halfway finished with 21 entries on the board now for prizes of almost $4k. There is just over an hour until the first break of the day and just under 3 hours left in the registration period.

The second game of the Tournament of Champions is now off and running with Event #2 underway. They were a bit late getting started, but Level 1 is now in play with 12 players to start and prizes of $2,280. Entries are open for a bit more than three hours on this one and I expect the numbers to grow significantly.

The opening day of action for the 2024 Tournament of Champions starts with a 50+ game, but there is an open side game starting at 4 PM for the chronologically disadvantaged players.

Players start the day with 20k in chips for 20-minute levels in this Turbo game. Entries are open for 9 levels plus breaks, so the last chance to buy into this one should be about 7:30 PM Thursday evening. After that, it will be a race to the finish as this will end in the single-day.

My main focus on Thursday will be the Seniors game to start, but once the Seniors finish, if this game is still running, I’ll move over to cover the endgame. At the very least, I should be able to get numbers and winners photos sorted.
