Day 1a was a pretty big day with 107 entries by the time they finished dinner at about 7:15. A bit more than four hours later, there were 13 players putting chips in a bag, 2 more than the 10% number that would have ended the day earlier.
That means that unless something radical happens at the end of Day 1b, Day 2 will NOT be in the money. However Day 1b plays out, the player they’ll all be chasing is Robbie Mosher from Nova Scotia. He bagged a massive stack of 633k, more than 200k more than second place Senthuran Vijayaratnam. As the bags came out, one of his tablemates jokingly asked if he needed a second bag.
Day 1b is the final chance for players to get into Day 2 on Sunday. There is already almost $140k in the prize pool from the 107 1a entries, so it seems like a lock for the game to crush $300k by the time entries close on 1b. They only need 127 entries, an extra 20 over the 1a total, to push past the $300k mark.
Day 1b action gets going at noon on Saturday as a replay of Day 1a. There are 9 levels of late entry and 15 levels on the Day 1 schedule. Levels are 40 minutes in length for Day 1 play.
I will likely be late to the floor for Saturday’s flight as Friday night was a bit of a late one.
