It’s probably safe to say Julius Roque likes this game. He cruised through the final table tonight with the chip lead from start to end, but this is far from the first time he’s crushed this game.
He won this same event in August 2023 at the Summer Super, then he followed that up earlier this year with a WSOP-C ring in this event in the May series. His son was on hand to celebrate his birthday and rail his dad for that ring.
He had no rail tonight, but Roque was just as dominant in the game. He was running pure, but he was also using his big stack to perfection pressuring the smaller stacks in crucial spots.
He had about 1.3 million out of 1.5 in play when he got heads-up with Patrick H and made quick work of it. In one of the first hands of HU play, Roque flopped a set of nines and the money went in with Patrick on an overpaid with the 9 blocker. Patrick bricked his thin draw on the turn and river to send yet another Mix game title to Roque.
