The 2023 WSOP builds on the momentum of 2022 tournament with a record-breaking $347.9 million total prize pool and it’s expected that record will be broken once again. Summer’s event will feature the biggest capacity with 608 tables in the history of the series, 24/7 live cash game action, and first-ever $300 Gladiators of Poker event.
The centerpiece of every World Series is the $10,000 Main Event, which will be held from July 3-17, following last year’s 8,663 entrants, the second-largest field in the history of live poker.
“With the momentum generated from the WSOP’s debut on the Las Vegas Strip last year, we expect a record-breaking WSOP and World Championship at Paris and Horseshoe Las Vegas in 2023,” said Ty Stewart, SVP & Executive Director of the WSOP. “If the Main Event is on your bucket list, this is the year to get to Vegas.”
And if that happens, organizers will draw someone from the field who will win a Main Event for Live – a non-transferable Main Event buy-in for the next 30 years.
The world’s largest poker site GG Network (Betkings, GGPoker, Natural8) partners up with WSOP to offer exclusive WSOP satellites which will guarantee 500 Main Event seats on the .com sites and another 100 seats on ClubGG subscription site. This is more than double of GTD seats than in 2022.
Online satellites will begin in March.
There will be several new events for 2023 besides $300 buy-in Gladiators of Poker. Badugi and Big O (PLO5 Hi/Lo) will each get their own event with $1,500 buy-in. High Roller 6-Max NLHE and High Roller H.O.R.S.E. will feature a $25,000 buy-in. If deep stack is not enough for yeah, here’s $600 Ultra stack with 60,000 starting chips.
A popular Mystery Bounty will get a second event called Secret Bounty with $10,000 buy-in. Mixed players will enjoy in new $2,500 O8 and Stud8 event, while shortdeck players will get their own “budget” $1,500 bracelet event.
