Daniel Negreanu Announces Big Plans for 2023 WSOP Series

Only a month before the 2023 World Series of Poker starts on the Las Vegas Strip, there are not many poker players who are more excited to play in the series than Daniel Negreanu is. Over the weekend, he posted his schedule for the 54th annual poker series, and it’s a long one.

As expected, Negreanu is kicking things off on the first day of play with the $25,000 High Roller 6-Max NLHE event. Over the course of 11 weeks, he may play in 88 events</strong>; that is, if he busts a tournament early in the day and can register for a new one starting later or if late registration is still open. We had definitely seen him playing in more than one tournament simultaneously while chasing points for the WSOP Player of the Year leaderboard. Some events are also online, meaning he can play online on his iPad while sitting at the table playing live, as shown in the video below. As it looks like from his Twitter posts, he has no intention of “multi-tabling” this year, but we bet you if Daniel gets any way close to the top in the POY leaderboard, he’s going to run from table to table.

Buy-ins for the 88 events total more than $900,000, and Negreanu will be selling action for some of them on PokerStake, but he’s usually doing it just for the sweating sake as he doesn’t charge any markup. What might be the most shocking piece of information is that he intends to have only TWO resting days throughout the whole series. Impressive work ethic, as always.

Biggest DNeg’s fans will be happy to hear that WSOP Vlogs will return this year! Last year he vlogged both WSOP from Vegas and from Europe for a total of 57 days. Negreanu is also very transparent with his results. Even though he ended the summer down more than a million dollars, he still profited more than $1.6 million in 2022 playing poker tournaments.

This year he also reached $50 million in live tournament winnings and is sitting in 3rd place on the all-time money list, behind Justin Bonomo and Bryn Kenney. With a perfect summer of 2023, he could close the gap on the pair, as they won’t be nearly as motivated to play as Daniel is.
