Danny Tang proved to everyone, perhaps even himself, that he's a force to reckon with on the poker tables, securing his fourth Triton title at the $60,000 No Limit Hold'em event, hosted at the luxurious JW Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
Tang’s recent victories include two titles from North Cyprus and one in Vietnam, and he is now only behind Jason Koon, who holds a record with 8 Triton trophies.
The final table was stacked with legends, including the likes of Koon, Mikita Badziakouski, Sean Winter, and others. Yet, when the dust settled, it was Tang and Bruno Volkmann from Brazil battling it out in the heads-up.
Unfortunately, Volkmann, who has a history of making it deep on the final tables, fell short again, securing second place and pocketing $1,080,000. Tang's win added a hefty $1,600,000 to his career earnings, edging him closer to the $10 million mark solely from the Triton Series.
“I don’t know what to say, I really don’t know what to say,” Tang told Ali Nejad. “I think I’ve played pretty much the same. I’ve maybe improved a bit, playing with these guys every day you’re going to improve. But I wouldn’t say my skill level has improved dramatically compared to six months ago.”
Though this concluded the No Limit Hold'em tournaments for the Triton Poker Series London, fans of high stakes poker still have much to look forward to. Three short deck tournaments, including the much-anticipated $60k Main Event, remain on the schedule.
