Due to WSOP error Negreanu loses POY, Winner Rob Campbell!

As if there wasn’t enough drama surrounding Player of the Year competition at this year’s WSOP, where the battle went on until the last breaths of the series, now the story got its epilogue away from the poker tables.

Russian journalist Alex Elenskiy has discovered a mistake where Negreanu was credited points in a tournament that he didn’t cash in, meaning that Canadian didn’t become WSOP Player of the Year, but instead Robert Campbell from Australia!

Two-time gold bracelet winner at WSOP 2019 surpassed Daniel by 99.53 points, who fell down to third place behind Shaun Deeb.

Surely a huge disappointment for “KidPoker”, especially considering how happy was he celebrating his third title, but he was still the first to congratulate Campbell on Twitter on his win.

But the biggest loser in this whole story man not even be Negreanu, but Shaun Deeb instead. American needed 5^th place at the last tournament to surpass Negreanu on POY list but finished 11^th.

Now after point correction it’s clear that Deeb would actually need “only” 9^th place to beat Campbell for this prestigious title! Considering he started the final day 3^rd in chips when 11 left, he would surely fold itself to the POY title rather easily.
