Gabe Kaplan Retires as High Stakes Poker Commentator 31 Jan

Gabe Kaplan, one of the most iconic voices of poker, has announced his retirement from High Stakes Poker show after spending 9 seasons in HSP commentary booth, including seasons 1-6, seasons 8-9 and one episode of newly started season 10.

In honor of Kaplan’s retirement, PokerGO aired his final episode in full for free on YouTube, featuring Eric Persson, Jean-Robert Bellande, Jennifer Tilly, Bobby Baldwin, Chino Rheem, Matt Hanks, and Ema Zajmovic.

"I had a blast doing High Stakes Poker, but the time has come for me to hang it up and empty my locker," said Gabe Kaplan. "I want to thank A.J, Mori and all the staff, players dealers and viewers. We had sixteen years of good times and now memories."

Most of the seasons Gabe Kaplan worked alongside A.J. Benza, who had a high praise for his colleague: "Working with Gabe Kaplan was a highlight of my career. Playing the straight man to his unbelievable comedic timing was precious. Not to mention learning poker at his knee. We had a great run and that’s why you never bet against two guys from Brooklyn."

The poker's most iconic cash game show entered its 10th season which will comprise of 14 episodes, featuring many poker superstars, including Daniel Negreanu, Andrew Robl, Bill Perkins, Antonio Esfandiari, and many more.
