Guinness World Record Bitcoin poker payout on WPN network

WPN network just hosted one of the biggest online poker tournaments, $2.650 The Venom with a $5 million dollar guaranteed prize pool. The tournament heavily exceeded all the expectations with 2553 entries and a total prize pool of $6.382.500!
 
The Venom was won by Rafael “TheBigKid” Moraes, who received $1.050.559 for his win. What is also so special about this, is the fact that WPN has paid the whole prize to Moraes in Bitcoins, just moments after the tournament has finished. This has earned them a Guinness World Record for the biggest ever cashout in cryptocurrency for any online poker tournament.

WPN and Americas Cardroom have been using Bitcoins since 2015. Even though the cryptocurrency payouts equated to only 2% at the beginning, the network nowadays performs as much as 60% of their money transactions in one of their 60 cryptocurrencies they accept.

The world record could only last for a couple of months, however, since there is a new The Venom event announced for December, which will feature a whooping guaranteed prize pool of $6 million dollars.
