Joshua Pollock Wins 2022 WPT Legends of Poker for $573,350 03 Sep

20th Season World Poker Tour Legends of Poker concluded on Thursday at Parkwest Bicycle Casino with Joshua Pollock coming on top for $573,350.

It was a revenge tour for Pollock, who finished in fourth place at the same event in 2011, after having the chip lead four handed. This time around he came as second in chip on the final table, behind Ray Qartomy who was leading the field at that point.

Out of 642 players these two faced in heads-up for a win and permanent inscription on WPT Champions Cip. Joshua had a nice lead starting the battle, but Ray took it over in the next half an hour. Lead was short lived as Pollock turned things around again and finished the deal only few hands later with pocket eight against A8 offsuit. Board ran dry for Qartomy and Pollock was 2022 WPT Legends of Poker winner!

"The tournament was a dream as I started running super good on Day 2, especially the last level when I became a chip leader and then won a bunch of huge flips on Day 3," said Joshua after his win. "Probably this is the best I’ve ever run in a tournament. Gotta get lucky to win these."

Pollock, who lives in San Diego, California, now has $1.7 million in live tournament winnings according to The Hendon Mob, while Qartomy, a true WPT legend, bumps his all-time score to $5,138,814 with $380,000 cash.

"Ray is a legend, he has the most WPT final tables ever, so it was awesome playing him heads-up. We were both playing fast, so it felt like a homegame and it was really enjoyable."
