Magnus Carlsen Will Debut at Hustler Casino Live on Wednesday 11 Apr

World Chess Championship 2023 is currently underway in Astana, Kazakhstan, that will determine who will be the next World Chess Champion. Last year, five-time world champion Magnus Carlsen announced that he would not defend the title this year as he was simply not motivated enough to play another match.

But it seems that’s not the case with poker! Just recently, he attended the Norwegian Poker Championship that took place in Card Casino Bratislava. Carlsen was on the featured table on Day 1B and managed to qualify for Day 2 of the Main Event with 19 big blinds.

Unfortunately, it was too great of a task to repeat the last year’s success, when he made a deep run and finished the 2022 Championship in 25th place, as he fell short just after the first break of the day, finishing the tournament in 418th place.

But the poker endeavors don’t end here for the Norwegian as Hustler Casino Live announced a Creator Poker Night livestream for Wednesday, where Magnus Carlsen will make his debut! His colleague Alexandra Botez will also join the show, and she is fresh from her first-ever poker tournament victory at the 2023 PCA.

Botez did really well on her second appearance at the HCL, walking away as the biggest winner of the night with $456,900 in profit, while Mr. Beast and Ludwig also pocketed more than $400,000.

Alongside two chess superstars, YouTubers and TikTok stars Bryce Hall, JC Caylen, Tana Mongeau, Kian Lawley, and Tommy Unold will be at the tables. We are first to confess we don’t know much about these guys, but according to all the feedback, another entertaining show is to be expected.

At least there won’t be Phil Hellmuth playing and killing the action with his shortstacking, as he did the last time when YouTube stars joined the Hustler Casino Live. From the poker world, it will be Mariano Grandoli playing this time. According to, he is up more than a million dollars in 45 appearances at the HCL.
