Philipp Gruissem Comes Back to Poker with a GGMasters Overlay Edition Win

German poker pro Philipp Gruissem announced his return to poker world at the start of the year and now, only a month and a half later, he already crushed his opposition in one of the biggest online tournaments in the history, the 2nd GGMasters Overlay Edition.

Gruissem came on top of 64,622 entry field with more than a million dollars in overlay, and turned $150 into $806,385 payday. In the heads-up he beat Daniel “GuGaGi” de Freitas, much to the disappointment of Brazil poker community.

Philipp is one of the “original” German high stakes pros that stormed the poker world in 2010s. He has amassed more than $11 million in live tournament winnings before he took his break from poker to raise his young family. His last live tournament appearance was in January 2020 at partypoker MILLION UK when he was still a partypoker sponsored pro and this year he made an official comeback at the PCA in Bahamas.

GGMasters is a flagship tournament of GG Network (Betkings, GGPoker, Natural8).
