Player Wins the Easiest WSOPC Ring in History with Just 15 Runners

World Series of Poker Circuit events are one of the most popular and prestigious poker tournaments, usually accompanied by hundreds or even thousands of players. But that certainly wasn’t the case in the WSOP Michigan Online Circuit Opening Event which had only 15 runners!

The event with a $320 buy-in had a $25,000 guaranteed prize pool, which means there was a huge $19,000 overlay with 15 entries and an additional 5 re-entries. At the end, a player with a screenname ‘AceHanlon’ beat the other 14 players, while rebuying twice himself, and took home $12,500 and probably the easiest WSOPC Gold Ring in history. Two other players got paid, ‘HappyMrsChkn’ pocketed $7,500 while ‘stozy007’ boosted their bankroll by $5,000.

Besides the gold ring, which is one of the most sought-after poker trophies, AceHanlon also qualified for the Tournament of Champions, an event with a million dollar in the prize pool that will be held during the 2023 World Series of Poker. The $1M ToC Freeroll is open to any of the WSOP bracelet winners and gold ring winners during the 2023 season. AceHanlon will be joined by the likes of first  time WSOPC winners Lon McEachern and the star of ‘Mom’ TV series Beth Hall.

There was no official word from WSOP (MI) what happened that attendance to a WSOPC Online event was so low, but it seems there have been technical difficulties which many players experienced, including five-time WSOPC gold ring winner Mike Setera, who couldn’t log in the client.
