Casino mogul and multibillionaire Sheldon Adelson has died at age 87. According to Las Vegas Sands’ press release, he has died due to complications related to treatment he was receiving for non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
In the poker world Adelson was most known as the biggest enemy of online poker. In the past he has said that he is willing to spend whatever it takes to ban online gambling in American and he succeeded doing just that, while amassing a net worth of more than $33 billion according to Forbes.

He was a chairman and CEO of Las Vegas Sand, which he founded in 1988 and controlled more than half of the company's shares. Sands has several resorts in US and Asia, two most known being The Venetian and The Palazzo on Las Vegas Strip.
As you could expect, he won’t be missed in poker community as many are already celebrating his death with tons of messages on twoplus forums, reddit and twitter.
I’d like to say how sorry I am to hear about the death of Sheldon Adelson.

I’d like to but it’s impossible because he was a tumescent ball-bag. In the end, Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma was to him what he was to the poker world.https://t.co/C5nEfpIeXG
The best thing I can say about Sheldon Adelson was that he was such a POS that he unified the two disparate circles in my life--progressive liberals and poker players (in our immense amount of hatred for him). May his death be a sign of better things to come for both communities.
