Early life

Koray was born in 1990 in Berlin; later, he moved to Vienna and started playing poker in 2006.

His first live MTT cash was in 2012 when he won €200 in the No Limit tournament for $4,344. He continued playing all around Europe (Austria, Czech Republic, Cyprus, etc.) before attending WSOP in 2014.

World Series of Poker

His first significant cash came in 2016, where he placed 2nd in the $1,500 No Limit Hold’em Summer Solstice WSOP event for $252,805.

Two weeks later, he topped his most significant cash by winning 3rd place in $ 111,111 No Limit Hold’em High Roller for One Drop (single re-entry) for $2,154,265.

In 2017, he played again in €111,111 No Limit Hold’em – High Roller for One Drop and finished in 11th place for $283,371.

He was already recognized as a regular and played the highest possible limits at prestigious events, accumulating wins and cashes, but without blockbuster wins until 2021, when he won $ 10,000 No Limit Hold’em – WSOP Main Event for $8,000,000 and got his first WSOP bracelet.

He continued playing WSOP events every year but didn’t win any events; his most significant cash came in 2023 in a $50,000 No Limit Hold’em – High Roller – 8-Handed event, where he placed 5th for $533,561.

World Poker Tour

He started playing in WPT events in Europe in 2013; his first cash came from 2nd place in the $1,500 + 100 No Limit Hold’em – Bounty event in Cyprus, where he won $14,190. His first WPT win came next year when he won € 900 + 90 WPT No Limit Hold’em – Big Stack for $15,576.

In 2017, he won the WPT L.A. Poker Classic, a $ 5,250 No Limit Hold’em event for $124,240, his most significant WPT win.

European Poker Tour

His first EPT cash came early in his career; in 2014, he finished 190th in € 1,000 + 100 No Limit Hold’em – Eureka Main Event for $2,380 in his home town Vienna.

Koray played in many EPT events, but his first win came in 2016 when he won €500+50 No Limit Hold’em in Malta for $11,109. That was not significant cash, but it was his first EPT Trophy.

In 2019, he got 2nd place in €25,000 No Limit Hold’em – EPT High Roller for $734,086, which remains his best EPT result.

Triton Poker

He had only one cash in the Triton Poker Series, but it was a significant one; he won HK$970,000+30,000 No Limit Hold’em – Main Event in the Philippines for $1,292,509.
