The Jackpot prize was growing for months until a local Pittsburgh guest got dealt a seven-card straight flush with consecutive cards from 10 to 4 of clubs earning him $1,391,967! The game that the guest was playing was Pai Gow Poker.
Pai Gow Poker uses cards instead of Pai Gow dominoes, and it is played against the dealer and an optional bonus bet that triggers the Jackpot.
This was the first time a full jackpot was hit in Pai Gow Poker; the previous payout was for $92k when the player hit five aces and got 10% of the total jackpot prize.
“It’s such a fun and momentous experience watching a jackpot grow until it finally hits. Congrats to our local guests and also to our Rivers Pittsburgh dealers and team members for always doing a great job,” said Andre Barnabei, assistant general manager at Rivers Casino Pittsburgh.
Rivers Casino still holds the US record for a bad beat jackpot of $1.2M that was won in August 2022.
