On October 25, there was a massive win for three PokerStars players who triggered the $1,000,000 jackpot Spin & Go. The winner was a Belarusian player named “Zherminal”.
Once the jackpot is triggered, the prizes are set, and everybody is a winner even before a single hand is played. There is a $80,000 prize for third place and $120,000 for second place. The prize for first place is $1,000,000.
The probability for this jackpot to be triggered is 1 in 10,000,000, so these guys were fortunate to turn their $5 investment into a small fortune.
This time, “Zherminal” became the 45th millionaire via Spin & Go on PokerStars, and he did it with style, flopping a straight on A♣2♣5♣ holding 4♥3♦. His opponent, “derom01,” had some equity, holding 10♠6♣ and hoping for a club to come. Fortunately for Zherminal, the turn was 2♦, and the river was 5♠, with no flushes on sight. “mari_farah15” was the player who came in third place and won $80,000.
“Zherminal” has also played over 1,000,000 hands on PokerStars before got this life changing win.
We will also see first Spin & Go World Championship this December in Prague during the EPT.
- 81 players – drawn from online qualifiers – will contest the tournament, starting on 27 3-handed tables.
- The first on each table to reach five wins will advance.
- The next round will feature nine 3-handed tables, and players will again attempt to reach the required number of wins to advance. This time, however – and for the rest of the tournament – players at each table will draw envelopes revealing the prize on offer for the table’s winner.
- The total prizes available, drawn, and remaining, will be shared in a similar fashion to how mystery bounty tournaments operate. Larger prizes will be added as the tournament reaches the deeper stages.
- Three 3-handed tables will contest round 3, followed by the 3-handed final table.
The tournament will be running for two days, but the dates still have to be confirmed.
