During the Super Bowl ad, the 32-time Grammy winner chose this occasion to announce her upcoming album Act II, featuring two new singles “16 Carriages” and “Texas Hold ’Em”, and it’s the latter that particularly intrigues the poker world.
With the song, Beyoncé pays homage to her Texas roots and uses poker metaphors to explore themes of love.

However, it’s impossible not to mention Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face” at this point, which at the height of its popularity, was played in poker rooms worldwide, announcing level changes at tournaments with its catchy “p-p-p-poker face”. But Beyoncé’s new entry into the country music scene has sparked some controversy with mixed reactions from the country music industry.
