After five days of non-stop poker action, the first-ever weplay network event is officially in the books. Hungarian David Kozma claimed his first live tournament victory after he defeated Norwegian Christian Ihlen Brunborg heads-up in the three-day €350 Main Event for €31,470.
The €350 Main Event attracted 566 entries to raise the original €135,000 guaranteed prize pool to a fantastic €175,686. Hungarian David Kozma was the big event winner, taking home the first-place prize of €31,470 after he defeated Norvegian Christian Ihlen Brunborg, who took home the second-place prize of €20,875.
The Main Event exceeded all the organizers’ expectations, shattering the guaranteed prize pool for more than €50k. The attendance of the weplay event is expected to be even more prominent in the following events, so keep following our page to find out where and when the next weplay event will be played. The event was promoted as the largest-ever poker event in Croatian history, rightfully so. Cash games ran all day for five days straight, with many different variants poker has to offer.
The most popular games played were, of course, No Limit Hold’em and the ever-more popular PLO5. Stakes played started at 5/5€ and went all the way to 50/100€. Even higher limits and more tables are expected to run in the next event.
Besides the last day of the Main Event, a €100+€100 Super Bounty was played out on Sunday, which exceeded all expectations, gathering 154 entries.
Connie O’Sullivan from Ireland, taking home the first-place prize of €3,731 and a bunch of €100 bounties he collected along the way. Following him were the local Croatian Hrvoje Mitrović for €2,560 prize, a female poker player from Brazil, Oliveira de Jesus for €1,680, and the bounties.
