Doug Polk, Andrew Nemee and Brad Owen Are Taking Over the Largest Poker Room in Texas

Earlier this month, the City Council of Farmers Branch rejected Doug Polk’s proposal to establish a new poker room in Texas. Following presentations from both parties, the Farmers Branch City Council voted 4-1 against Polk’s proposal. They also granted him another opportunity, prompting Polk to announce on X that he would return to pursue his endeavor. Doug said we shouldn’t expect him to return to the farmer’s branch, but he found another opportunity in San Antonio.

New Poker Room in San Antonio

Polk reposted a tweet from the Lodge Card Club X account, where they announced that they would take over the largest poker room in San Antonio on July 3.

Polk posted a short video announcing that Lodge Card Club acquired Rounders Card Club, the largest poker room in San Antonio. He promised good treatment for his customers, starting with a meetup game on July 26 and a $50,000 GTD tournament on July 27. Polk also announced that the room will double in size and increase the number of tables from 30 to 70 next year.

The Expansion Continues

This move is not the last one we will see from Polk, as he plans to continue opening poker rooms in all of Texas’s major cities. He also said that Texas is not the only state where he plans to open poker rooms, and he will look for other locations in the future.

Polk, Neeme, and Owen will try to establish a standard level of poker room quality and grow them like they did when they bought The Lodge Card Club in 2022.
