Meli responded with a shove, which got snap-called by Na, who had A♠K♣ and was ahead of Meli’s A♥3♥. The board ran 2♣9♣A♦A♣5♣, and Meli was out as Na hit the flush on the river. Meli won €10,750 for his seventh-place finish.
Axel Bayout went all-in from SB against Stanciu, who opened from the BTN and called the shove. Stanciu was ahead, holding Q♠Q♦ vs Bayout’s A♦8♠. The board ran 7♠5♣5♠6♦J♣, which didn’t bring any good news for Bayout, who was eliminated in sixth place for €14,600.
Amiel Gamliel was out of luck when he shoved from BB against the open from Di Nicola, who was in the UTG. Di Nicola called the shove and confidently turned over his A♣Q♥, which was ahead of Gamliel’s A♥8♠. Right on the flop, the dealer put down Q♣2♥9♥, leaving Gamliel with slight chances to survive. The turn was K♠, and the river was J♠, and it was game over for Gamliel, who finished in fifth place for €20,400.
Di Nicola open-limped from SB, Traian Stanciu raised from BB, Di Nicola decided to fight for the pot and went for a 3-bet which was hit by all-in by Stanicu. Di Nicola snap-called holding Q♠Q♦ against Stanicu’s J♥J♦ which was a cooler and the board 9♠8♠7♥7♦7♦ was of no help for Stanicu who was eliminated in fourth place for €29,300.
Rachid El Yaacoubi was Di Nicola’s next victim when he opened from BTN and got called by Di Nicola in BB. The flop was 3♦10♥5♥; El Yaacoubi bet and faced a check-raise from Di Nicola. El Yaacoubi re-raised and called shove from Di Nicola, who had him covered. This time, Di Nicola was behind holding J♥8♥ against El Yaacoubi’s K♠10♠. The turn was 6♥, giving Di Nicola a winning hand and leaving El Yaacoubi drawing dead before 2♥ came on the river. El Yaacoubi was out in third place for €53,550.
The Heads Up
Coming into the heads-up, Di Nicola had more than triple the lead in chips and was the objective favorite to take down the title. It took Di Nicola less than one hour of play to win the whole thing. The last hand was standardly played by both players; Dohang shoved with A♣6♥, and Di Nicola snap-called holding a monster K♠K♦. The board was 9♣5♣6♣Q♥9♦. Di Nicola managed to dodge the ace or another six after the flop and took down the title. Dohang Na finished second for €75,550.
