One of the elite high-stakes MTT players, Patrick “Pads” Leonard, had one of the happiest mornings of his life after waking up to see that GGPoker had refunded him $152,733.53.
The refund was made due to the “most severe breach of the Security & Ecology agreement.” GGPoker said they are not allowed to disclose the names of the players who breached the agreement, but “Pads” posted a photo in which Bryn Kenney came in third place, winning $667.265, and “Pads” came fourth, winning $514.531 in WSOP Online $25K GGMillion$ Super High Roller Championship. The difference between their payouts is the exact amount “Pads” got refunded!
Later on, “Pads” made another post saying he assumed that the player who came in first place was the one removed, and everybody was moved up one spot. He also mentioned that a player went to bed two hours before the bubble but ended up min-cashing the tournament.
Ultimately, it looks like the biggest winner this morning was two-time WSOP bracelet winner Chris Brewer, who got $246,866.
Garofolo “forzaitalia” Francesco was banned from GG, but the exact reason still remains unknown. Some X users are guessing it may be for multi-accounting.
Refunds of this size are extremely rare and don’t happen often, but as big as this one is, there was a refund in 2007 when the player named “TheV0id” was banned and lost $1,378,331 playing on PokerStars.
