Raise Wars Begin

Elamawy open limped with 43, two players called, Robl squeezed to $10,000 with 53, two players folded, and Elamawy went for 3-bet to $32,000. When we all expected a fold from Robl, he went for 4-bet to $84,000, and Elamawy called. The pot was $172,100.

The flop comes J4K. Robl check-folds to Elamawy’s bet of $60,000. Robl shows his 53 and asks Elamawy if he has a similar hand, and Elamawy responds with “maybe” and a laugh.

Gavri Continues His Run From Last Season

Gavri opened to $3,600, and three players called, so we went to flop multiway. The pot was $15,100.

The flop is QJ5, Brownstein hit the top pair with his KQ, and he decides to lead for $10,900. Elamawy and Yokosawa fold, but Gavri calls with A10, trying to hit the gutshot. The pot was $36,900.

The turn K is the best possible card for Gavri and the worst possible for Brownstein. Both players improved their hand, but Gavri had Brownstein dominated. Brownstein continued with a $30,000 bet, and Gavri shoved for $90,000. Brownstein took a few moments to think and called eventually. The pot was $216,900.

They decided to run it twice; the first river was K, and the second one was 3 for a split.

Elamawy Hits the River

Elamawy opened to $2,500 with AJ, Gavri called with 86, Robl squeezed to $20,000 with 76, and everybody called. The pot was $61,700.

The flop comes 5K9, Robl c-bets for $20,000, and both players called. The pot was $121,700.

The turn was 5, giving Elamawy and Gavri the flushdraw. Robl checked, Elamawy checked, and Gavri bet $50,000. Elamawy called. The pot was $221,700.

The river comes A, and Gavri bets $69,000 to get snap-called by Elamawy, who hit the top pair on the river. Elamawy won the pot of $359,700.
