High Stakes Poker Season 13 Episode 8 Recap

The stakes are going up on this episode of High Stakes Poker as a new lineup of players battle away at $500/$1,000 No-Limit Hold’em. Andrew Robl, Sameh Elamawy, Jennifer Tilly, Justin Gavri, and Brandon Steven all return for some high-stakes action, while Nik Airball, Stanley Tang, and Humboldt Mike join the action. Airball Dodges the Bullet

Elamawy opens to $3,000 with KQ and gets four callers going into the flop. The pot was $17,500.

The flop came QKQ, and Elamawy has 87 percent equity in a five-way pot. Elamawy and Humboldt Mike both checked, but Airball didn’t miss the opportunity to bet $5,000 with trips holding AQ. Humboldt and Elamawy called while Steven and Tilly decided to fold their hands. The pot was $32,500.

The turn was 8. Elamawy and Humboldt checked, and Airball continued with a bet of $21,000. Both of his opponents called, and the pot was $95,000.

The river came brick 4, Elamawy goes for block bet of $25,000, Humboldt folds, and Airball goes for raise to $100,000. Elamawy didn’t think much before putting all the chips in the middle ($328,000), and Airball was in a tough spot. After some talk, Elamawy showed king to Airball, who continued to read him and make a correct fold in the end. Elamawy won the pot of $220,500.

Humboldt Bluffs Them Away

Robl opened to $3,000 with 66. Three players called before Gavri squeezed to $21,000 with 1010, which was called by all four players. The pot was $106,500.

The dealer put down 54A, giving Tilly the best hand with her A9. Everybody checked, and action came to Tilly, who decided to put in a bet of $25,000. Elamawy (KQ) and Humboldt(K3) called. The pot was $181,500.

The turn came 8 and everybody checked.

The river was Q, Elamawy checked, and Humboldt went for $210,000, holding just king-high. Tilly folded the best hand, and Elamawy folded quickly behind her. Humboldt made a gimmick where he turned over his hand and showed the bluff.

Robl’s Kings Held Twice

Robl opened to $6,000 with KK, Tilly called, Airball squeezed to $45,000 with AK, Robl 4-bet to $135,000, Airball shoved for $353,000 and Robl snap-called. The pot was $716,000.

They decided to run it twice. The first board was 2QJ33, giving Robl the first half of the pot, and the second board was Q4K109, giving Robl the second part of the pot.
