Ike Haxton Wins PokerGO Cup Finale, Cary Katz Overall Champion
If you had to pick a tournament to win at 2023 PokerGO Cup, surely the final Event of the series is the one as Isaac Haxton beats a field of 26 players at Event #8: $50,000 NL Hold’em for a nice $598,000 payday.
Four players entered the second day of the tournament and Haxton was holding a chip lead coming into the final day. He managed to get to the heads-up without a scratch where he faced Cary Katz for the win.
With securing at least a 2nd place in the final event, PokerGO boss also secured a win in overall PokerGO Cup leaderboard, snatching the award from leading Anthony Hu. Before the heads-up battle started, Katz received a nice trophy and a $50,000 bonus from the hands of PokerGO president, Mori Eskandani.
The cup surely gave him some confidence, as the final act of the tournament went longer than many expected, even though Ike started with a 2:1 chip lead. After more than an hour of play, Haxton finally put a nail in the coffin and both players left the studio with a smile on their faces.
