The MONSTER festival, part of the Irish Poker Tour, is returning for its second year, promising even more excitement and bigger guarantees. Set in the heart of Dublin at The Green Isle Hotel from May 1 to 5, the festival offers players massive prize pools for small buy-ins, living up to its moniker.
For 2024, the prize pools have been raised even higher. The festival’s overall guarantee has surged to €350,000, marking a €100,000 increase from the previous year, while the highlight of the festival, The Monster Main Event, boasts a €200,000 guarantee for a mere €150 buy-in, up from last year’s €150,000 GTD. The Main Event kicks off with Day 1A on Thursday, May 2, and spans a total of seven first-day flights, including a Hyper Turbo 1G on Sunday, May 5, right before the Final Day begins.
The inaugural Monster title was claimed by Kyle Slattery in 2023, who walked away with €22,245 after making a deal with Trevor Crawford, who secured €20,000. The overwhelming turnout of 1,796 entrants last year pushed the prize pool to €216,645 and undoubtedly set the stage for this year’s increased guarantee by the Irish Poker Tour.

APAT Irish Amateur Poker Championship
Adding to the festival’s schedule, the Amateur Poker Association & Tour (APAT) is introducing the €40,000 GTD APAT Irish Amateur Poker Championship as part of The Monster Festival 2024. The €150 buy-in championship starts on Wednesday, May 1, and includes two additional starting flights with a Final Day conclusion on Thursday, May 2, where the top three champions will be awarded gold, silver, and bronze medals.
APAT was established in 2006 and is best known as a community of amateur poker players that compete in live and online events, offering a supportive and friendly environment. In 2023 APAT has partnered with GGPoker.
