A 54-year-old man from Tarpon Springs shot his roommate (45) because he was tired of being verbally abused. Two men were drinking and playing poker at a local bar, and when they got home, one of them took a shotgun and shot the other one to death.
Being Verbally Abused
The suspect told the police that he was tired of being verbally abused and insulted in front of his friends. The suspect got home before the victim loaded a shotgun and waited for the victim to come home. As soon as the victim got home, the Suspect shot him with one round, and after hearing that the victim was wounded, he shot two more rounds and killed him.
It Was Not an Accident!
After the shooting, the suspect threw the shotgun away and sat outside, waiting for police to arrive. The Suspect told the police that he shot him because he wanted to, and it was not an accident. The suspect was charged with first-degree murder and is being held in the Pinellas County Jail. The victim was pronounced dead at Advent Health North Pinellas that morning. The incident happened on Tuesday morning around 2:30 a.m.
