The new episode of High Stakes Poker is out and has an exciting lineup.
We have Doug Polk, Nik Airball, Eric Persson, Jennifer Tilly, Matt Berkey, and Lynn Ji.
The rivalry that intrigues the most is the one between Nik Airball and Matt Berkey, who won $1 Million off Nik just a few months ago in their heads-up match.
The game was 7-handed $400/$800 No-Limit Hold’em with $100.000 min buy-in.
And like it was scripted, the big hand where Berkey gets his Aces cracked by Nik happens early!
Everybody folds, and Berkey decides to just limp in the small blind with AsAd and Airball checks in the big blind holding 8d4d. Pot was $1,300.
Flop comes out Jd7h2d, giving Airball a flush draw, but Berkey still had a better hand. Berkey Check the flop, Airball bets $1,000 and gets Check-raised to $3.500. Nik Calls. Pot was $8,300.
Turn comes Kc, which doesn’t help either player, and Berkey bets $10,000, Nik decides to call again. Pot was $28,300.
River comes 5d and gives Nik the flush. Berkey bets $15,000, and Nik puts him all in for another $71,400.
Berkey was thinking for a minute but decided to call to find out his Aces were no good. Nik Airball wins a $201,100 pot and pokes Berkey with, “Life is good, give me all the chips.”
