Norwegian Poker Championship Approaching Final Stages

Day 2 of the Norwegian Poker Championship concluded yesterday, and 38 players will return today for Day 3 to fight for the title and €110,768 first-place money prize.

904 Norwegian players entered the Main Event, including many PokerPro.cc players, and several of them qualified for Day 3 with a couple of big stacks. But no one has more than overall chip leader Lars Vidar Gjoesund Hareid, who bagged up more than 5.7 million chips.

Five-Time World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen was again spotted at the tables. Last year he went deep into the Main Event, finishing in 25^th place out of 1,050 participants.

It will be interesting to see if he can one-up his last year’s result.

It’s expected that the money bubble will burst during Day 3 of the Main Event, which will speed up the process a bit, all the way to the final table.
