Day 2 of the Norwegian Poker Championship concluded yesterday, and 38 players will return today for Day 3 to fight for the title and €110,768 first-place money prize.
904 Norwegian players entered the Main Event, including many PokerPro.cc players, and several of them qualified for Day 3 with a couple of big stacks. But no one has more than overall chip leader Lars Vidar Gjoesund Hareid, who bagged up more than 5.7 million chips.
You can follow the Main Event livestreams on the PokerNM YouTube channel.
Five-Time World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen was again spotted at the tables. Last year he went deep into the Main Event, finishing in 25th place out of 1,050 participants.
It will be interesting to see if he can one-up his last year’s result.
It’s expected that the money bubble will burst during Day 3 of the Main Event, which will speed up the process a bit, all the way to the final table.
