WPT

2020 has been full of surprises, and the poker world is no exception. What can be better for a regular player than the option to participate in not just one, but two prestigious poker series like WPT and WSOP from the comfort of their homes? Both series are being held online this year, with the guaranteed prize pools exceeding all expectations.

By now we already crowned four WPT Championship events winners, in Omaha Hi-Lo Championship, Omaha Championship, 8-max Championship, and 6-max Championship, all with a $3.200 buy-in. For those still looking to participate in the WPT Championship, you have nothing to worry about, as the series will run until the 8th of September, with MINI and MICRO events alongside tournaments with huge buy-ins.

Paul Tedeschi and Alex Milano win the Omaha events

The first two events of the online WPT Championship featured the ever-popular “4 cards game”, Omaha.

Paul Tedeschi, who is better known for his No-Limit Hold’em skills, managed to conquer the Omaha Hi-Lo event. The last three remaining players; Tedeschi, Dan Shark, and Anssi Kinttala made a 3-way deal, chopping the remaining prize pool. The Frenchman had the biggest stack at that time, therefore he was declared the winner of the tournament.

The organizers did not make the same “mistake” in the next Omaha event. The heads-up match featured the chip leader Alex Manzano and Paresh Doshi. Both players had over 100 big blinds, but neither managed to establish a dominant lead. Therefore, they also made a 2-way deal, with $10.000 left in the prize pool to play for. In the end, Alex Manzano from Chile managed to win the tournament.

Cochrane and Petrangelo both win a title

Gavin Cochrane became the winner of the 8-Max Championship event, which also counts for the WPT Championship Club. He took away a staggering prize of $540.664 along with a WPT Tournament of Champions ticket.

6-max Championship event brought us the second WPT Championship Club event winner, the Canadian Nick Petrangelo. He also won a significant cash prize of $494.550 and a WPT Tournament of Champions ticket.
