Partypoker is Making Changes to Their SNG Tournaments

Those of you who play Sit & Go (SNG) tournaments on partypoker will notice a handful of differences when you fire up your favourite games. Some formats will no longer be available due to a lack of liquidity, while other SNG will have a slight rake increase.

SNG Being Removed From August 27

Partypoker management team continually monitors all of their cash games and various tournament poker formats and tries to keep liquidity levels as high as possible. From August 27, the following formats will no longer be available in the partypoker client.

  • Turbo 6-Max [18 players]
  • Progressive KO
  • Hyper 9-Max
  • Double or Nothing Hyper 8-Max
  • Triple Up 6-Max
  • Hyper 9-Max Triple Up
  • Hyper 6-Max [36 players]
  • Hyper 6-Max [18 players]
  • 45 Players – Turbo

The removal of these formats should have minimal effect on you because the games were not as popular as our other SNG formats.

Rake Increases From August 27

Also from August 27, the rake in certain SNG formats is increasing. These increases come into force across all buy-in levels, but the rates continue to be competitive. You will see an increase in the rake across the following formats with buy-ins of $1 to $1,000 (where those stakes are available).

  • Double or Nothing Hyper 6-Max
  • Double or Nothing Turbo
  • Double or Nothing Turbo 6-Max
  • Heads-Up Hyper Turbo
  • Heads Up Turbo
  • Hyper 6-Max
  • Super-KO
  • Turbo
  • Turbo 6-Max

None of the changes affect SPINS tournaments.

The Weekend Leaderboards, which run across Saturday and Sunday, as the name suggests, also continue and will payout $10,000 worth of tournament dollars across the three leaderboard levels.
