Poker video subscription service PokerGO will launch a first-ever global professional poker ranking system called the PokerGO Tour. It will consist 150 global high stakes events with tens of millions of dollars at stake.
PokerGO Tour will feature a Player of the year (POY) ranking system, where players will earn points according to tournament results, similar to other popular professional sports and where top performer will be awarded $100.000 and POY title. Tournaments included are Poker Masters, U.S. Poker Open, Super High Roller Bowl and more.
“The sport of poker is hundreds of years old and until now, there has not been a globally recognized tour and ranking system that establishes and celebrates the most elite players across the globe, so we started something we hope will evolve and grow,” said Mori Eskandani, President of PokerGO.
The PokerGO Tour will begin with 2021 U.S. Poker Open on June 3, 2021. Other events scheduled for the PokerGO studio in Las Vegas include:
It seems players are already interested in reserving their spot in HU Championship.
These are only PokerGO exclusive events, it’s expected for more tournaments to be release during the year as more than 150 will counts toward the POY ranking system.
