We have already written about the rumors about PokerStars changing the rakeback system, and now it’s happening.
The change is starting on January 22. its goal is to make it more transparent and fair for everybody.
“Rewards programs tend to be quite convoluted or complicated. We wanted to get back to the roots of ‘do X and get Y.’ Previously, players received a rakeback challenge, but the size and requirements changed, so players didn’t know what to expect. Under our new rewards program, players know if they play a certain volume, they will get a specific rakeback rate and be rewarded the same way every time.” said Chris Straghalis, Director of Online Poker for Pokerstars.
The main problem with the old RB system was that monthly/weekly challenges were not finished every time for some players, so they would miss on all that rakeback.
Previously, players were able to get 15-25% with chests and an additional 10-40% with monthly/weekly challenges.
The new Rakeback program has eight tiers, including Select and Select Plus additions.
