Popular Streamer Fintan “easywithaces” Hand Crowned UKIPT Edinburgh Main Event Champion

Popular streamer and PokerStars ambassador, Fintan “easywithaces” Hand, has soared to victory at the UKIPT Edinburgh Main Event, pocketing a career-high £44,200. This win marks the second time a PokerStars ambassador has triumphed in a UKIPT festival. Notably, Benjamin “spraggy” Spragg, another popular Twitch streamer, previously won the UKIPT Brighton Main Event and even made the final table again in Edinburgh.

A total of 220 players battled it out across several Day 1 flights in the £1,100 Main Event. As the tension escalated, the final day saw only six players contending for the top spot. Scottish player, Daniel Gormley, began the day as the one to beat, holding an impressive 2,780,000 chips, double the stash of the second-place holder, Benjamin Spragg, who had 1,380,000. Fintan trailed just behind in third with 955,000 chips.

But luck was not on Spragg’s side this time. He faced two devastating beats: first, clashing his Jacks with pocket Kings and later making an unfortunate hero call with a middle pair. This sequence of events saw him exit in 6th place.

Stephen Mckay was the next to fall, finding himself dominated when he moved all-in preflop with AT against Fintan’s superior AK. Nohan Teliani met her tournament end in 4th, calling Fintan’s steal attempt only to have the board betray her. A similar fate awaited Andrew Mackenzie, who, despite having an A6 against Fintan’s 97, found himself bested by the board and left in third place.

As the heads-up match began, Fintan enjoyed a 3:1 chip advantage over Gormley. The final duel saw Gormley go all-in with A4 against Fintan’s 88. The board ran out T42 Q 6, allowing Fintan’s pocket eights to hold and Gormley had to settled for a commendable second place and £27,500.

Fintan “easywithaces” Hand was crowned the new UKIPT champion. Alongside the hefty £44,200 prize, he raised the coveted PokerStars trophy, sealing his place in UKIPT history.
