Public Nominations Open for 2022 Women in Poker Hall of Fame

Public nominations for the class of 2022 Women in Poker Hall of Fame are now open and will run through September 1. The mission for WiPHoF is to honor women in poker who have acquired prominence and have made contribution to the poker world.

Plan was to induct at least one female poker figure into the hall of fame every two years, but the ceremony in 2020 was put on hold for obvious reasons. The last one happened in 2018 when Maria Ho and the organization’s founder Lupe Soto were inducted, and Women Hall of Fame currently has 20 members:

  • 2008:  Barbara Enright, Linda Johnson, Marsha Waggoner, Susie Isaacs, Cyndy Violette, Jan Fisher, June Field
  • 2010:  Billie Brown, Kathy Liebert
  • 2011:  Kristy Gazes, Margie Heintz, Phyllis Caro
  • 2012:  JJ Liu, Kathy Raymond
  • 2014:  Deborah Giardina, Allyn Shulman
  • 2016:  Debbie Burkhead, Victoria Cohen
  • 2018:  Maria Ho, Lupe Soto

Two strong favorites are emerging for the Hall of Fame spot: Vanessa Selbst, three-time bracelet winner and #1 on the Women’s All-Time Tournament leaderboard with almost $12 million In earnings, and Kristen Bicknell who won GPI Female Poker Player of the Year three times in a row and is also a three-time WSOP winner.

There are several shouts for some other prominent women in poker like Kara Scott, Liv Boeree, Lynn Gilmartin, Gaëlle Baumann, among others.
