iGaming industry leaders across the globe gathered at the sunny isles of Maltese archipelago for a week of networking, conferences, and brainstorming. SiGMA – World’s iGaming Festival has taken this year’s expo to a completely new level. From 1,200 delegates in 2014 to a jam-packed event in 2022 with over 25,000 registered delegates. “Never in my wildest dreams would I have foreseen that SiGMA in 2014 would become the international show that it is today,” said Eman Pulis, SiGMA Group founder.
As you can see the expo floor at Malta Fairs & Conventions Centre was buzzing and offered a curated display of gaming solutions and products. Roberto Carlos, a world football champion with Brazil and former Real Madrid player attended the event as well, signing autographs and taking pictures with fans.
300 Spartans also took place during the Malta week. After successful round trips to Hong Kong, New Jersey, Tallinn, Kyiv and Bucharest, AGS has flown 300 most influential affiliates to Malta, for an all-inclusive trip. The best speakers in the industry came to present and share their knowledge and tips with their esteemed delegates.
GGPoker is also a regular presenter at SiGMA and it was no difference this time around. If last year their main focus was on a revolutionary Flip & Go tournaments that featured also at the World Series of Poker, this year all eyes were on new Bet & Go format.
GG also hosted a €5,000 Freeroll for anyone to join and to show how good of a poker face you have.
Also, government entities, Ministers, and Prime Minister of Malta himself, Robert Abela paid a visit to SiGMA, showing the importance of Gaming industry for Malta. In his speech Arbela stated: “This is an industry which we are very very proud of. Malta is the home of choice for over 300 gaming firms providing over 10,000 gaming-related opportunities for jobs. Many of the companies are listed on the major stock exchanges boasting a superior level of governance.”
The highly anticipated Awards night spotlighted the top talents from digital space. Inaugural Streamer awards celebrated the finest that live streaming has to offer, including top streamers like Mr-Gamble, Haddzy, Doddy, Bonkku, Big Daddy, MaximZockt, Juicyspins, and others.
The AGS Awards handed out 15 awards in recognition of innovations, new technologies, affiliate networks, while LCB Awards celebrated the best achievement in the iGaming industry.
Event also had a charitable note as organizers raised a record-breaking €91,000 for charity with fundraising auction with all proceedings going to SiGMA Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the SiGMA Group, reflecting the company’s commitment to supporting those in need around the world through fund-raising activities, charity, education, and crucial skills to enable self-confidence and personal empowerment.
SiGMA is already looking at next year event. Malta, being amongst one of the first European states to regulate the gambling sector, is a nexus of the global industry and one of its main pillars. This makes it a natural choice for SiGMA’s presence in Europe and a solid foundation for the future of the field.
