Matt Berkey, owner of “SolveForWhy,” posted a promo on X of a course from one of “SolveForWhy” pros and didn’t miss a chance to take a little stab at Daniel Negreanu.
Daniel didn’t like his post and responded by sarcastically saying, “Why waste time learning from proven high stakes crushers: Jason Koon, Jason Koon Nick Petrangelo, Chance Kornuth, Alex Foxen, Justin Saliba, Phil Galfond, Dan Smith, Chris Brewer, Darren Elias. Trust us, we don’t play tournaments, but we know everything there is to know!”
Berkey responded by saying Negreanu forgot one pro and posted a video of Daniel’s course promo. Negreanu just responded by posting his Hendon mob results.
But then, after Negreanu asks him who Berkey is sticking up for, Berkey responds and drops a “nuke,” saying: “Matt Hunt for starters, Andrew Brokos, Euan McNicolas, Landon, myself, and anyone else your vindictive attacks may have affected negatively. We all know your M.O. use your platform to punch down & smash anyone who rubs the great Kid Poker the wrong way. You’ve such a fucking phony, talking about standing up for ppl. You don’t say a fucking word about community issues. Not a peep over the GG super user, not a peep regarding security issues on a site you represent, let alone the rest of the industry. What was the last big issue you stood tall on? Gaza? Or was it when you all but single handedly ruined Jamie Kerstetter’s commentary career for simply existing? You aim your platform at whoever you decide deserves to be dragged based off your belief that you are judge, jury, and executioner. You don’t stand for one single thing of substance, you spineless coward. As far as I’m concerned, you’re just a more likable Polk. At least he doesn’t attempt to hide who he is.”
After that post, some pros, like Jungleman and Beriuzy supported Berkey. And like a cherry on top, we got a response from one and only Phil Galfond.
And that was it for the whole drama. The pros managed to bring more eyeballs and promoted their coaching sites, and of course, they got more of EV.
