Igor Yaroshevskyy Wins Triton $40,000 Bounty Quattro Event For $1,172,000

Igor Yaroshevskyy entered the 2024 Triton Super High Roller Series Montenegro with an impressive track record, boasting over $6.5 million in live tournament earnings and more than 160 in-the-money finishes. Within the first week of this high-stakes festival, Yaroshevskyy reached two significant milestones: winning his first Triton title and earning a seven-figure payday. The Ukrainian accomplished both by triumphing in the $40,000 Bounty Quattro Event, claiming the prestigious trident trophy and the top prize of $1,052,000, along with an additional $120,000 in bounties.

He started the final table with the second shortest stack, yet managed to knock out Isaac Haxton, securing the title and cashing in his bounty token.

For Haxton, it was another close call. With 39 cashes and $12 million in Triton Series earnings, the title still eludes him. He took home $716,000, falling to a worthy opponent in Yaroshevskyy, who has now reached at least one final table at each of the four Triton stops he’s attended.

I am so excited,” Yaroshevskyy exclaimed. “It’s an amazing feeling. Today is my day. Thank you guys!

Tournament Details

The $50,000 buy-in event had $15,000 allocated to the bounty prize pool, with bounties introduced when 25 percent of the field remained. Each of the 32 bounties was worth $60,000, creating significant incentive for knockouts.

Twenty-eight players returned on Day 2 with bounties in play, and despite the stakes, the stacks were deep. Notable eliminations included Jason Koon, Chris Brewer, Michael Soyza, and Mike Watson, who already won himself a trophy in this Triton edition. Bulgaria’s Dimitar Danchev emerged as a dominant force, knocking out Watson and Brian Kim in a huge three-way coup, taking a sizable chip lead to the final table.

Final Table Action

Patrik Antonius, the short stack entering the final, couldn’t catch a break. He departed in eighth place after his A10 couldn’t hold up against Haxton’s JQ on a 610K9A board. Antonius earned $136,000.

Paulius Vaitiekunas secured a spot at the final table after a double-up nine-handed, but his luck ran out when he three-bet shoved with K10 against Adrian Mateos’ pocket eights. The eights held, and Vaitiekunas exited in seventh place with $183,800 and $120,000 from two bounties.

Adrian Mateos, at his second final table of the week, found himself in trouble when his AK lost to Punnat Punsri’s AQ after a queen on the river. Mateos couldn’t recover and finished sixth for $245,000.

Shyngis Satubayev, representing Kazakhstan, recorded his seventh Triton cash and second final table. However, he fell to Punsri when his A4 couldn’t outrun Punsri’s 104. Satubayev won $313,000 for fifth place.

Dimitar Danchev, who started the final table in a strong position, saw his stack dwindle. He shoved with AJ only to be bested by Punsri’s K3, exiting in fourth for $390,000.

Punnat Punsri, seemingly unstoppable, entered three-handed play with a dominant chip lead. However, a series of losses, including a flush hit by Yaroshevskyy and trip tens by Haxton, saw him fall to third place, earning $473,000 plus $300,000 for five bounties.

The heads-up battle between Yaroshevskyy and Haxton was brief. Yaroshevskyy’s 77 held against Haxton’s AK, securing the title for Yaroshevskyy and marking a significant win for Ukraine.
