Tim Adams Claims Second Main Event Victory at Triton Super High Roller Series

Canadian poker pro Tim Adams proved his worth again, sealing his second Triton Super High Roller Series Main Event win, making him only the third player to achieve this feat. His victory at the $125,000 buy-in Main Event in London came with a whopping prize of almost $4.2 million, marking the largest single win of his impressive career.

The Main Event, held at the luxurious JW Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel, started with a bang as 151 players entered the field, and the event boasted a prize pool of $18,875,000, setting a new record in Triton’s history.

The final table began with notable names like Dan “Jungleman” Cates, Stephen Chidwick, Doug Polk, and Adams himself. However, it was the indomitable French businessman Jean-Noel Thorel who became the most severe threat. Thorel’s series of premium pairs, including multiple pocket aces and kings, saw him knock out many contenders, but he couldn’t maintain his streak until the very end.

The decisive moment came when both players went all-in pre-flop. Adams with pocket eights and Thorel with nines and lady luck favored Adams as an eight appeared on the river, turning the tide in his favor.

“When we got it in, it was a bit of a cooler,” Adams said. “I thought that would be it for me. I couldn’t believe it when I smashed the eight on the river.”

“I’m just lost for words because that was insane that I won this one,” Adams confessed at the end. “It was a battle, heads up. Jean Noel, hats off to him. He is an insane competitor, super tough to play against.”
