World Series of Poker Announces Hybrid 2020 Main Event

The World Series of Poker made a surprising announcement today for plans to host a special hybrid $10,000 2020 WSOP Main Event!

Main Event will begin online on two different sites – WSOP.com for Americans (Nevada, NJ) and GGNetwork (BetKings, GGpoker, Natural8, 2bet4win) for International players and then continue live on two continents.

GGNetwork will host three first day flights – Day 1A on Sunday, November 29; Day 1B on Saturday, December 5; and Day 1C on Sunday, December 6. Players may choose only one date of play.

U.S. residents will be able to play Day 1 on WSOP.com on Sunday, December 13.

Both tournaments will be paused on Day 2 when final table of nine players is reached. Players from US will travel to Rio, Las Vegas and International final table will be played in King’s Casino in Rozvadov, Czech Republic.

World Series of Poker Announces Hybrid 2020 Main Event

Both final tables will be played and paid out normally, only the winners will meet in Vegas for a special Heads-Up Championship, awarding an additional $1 million added prize and official title of 2020 WSOP Main Event Champion.

ESPN will air coverage of the 2020 WSOP Main Event featuring Lon McEachern and Norman Chad.

Dates for Domestic Tournament:
Day 1 – Sunday, Dec. 13, 2020
Day 2 – Monday, Dec. 14, 2020, Play down to 9 players
Final Table – Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Monday, Dec. 28, Play continues to a winner; prize monies paid

Dates for International Tournament:
Day 1A – Sunday, Nov. 29, 2020
Day 1B – Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020
Day 1C – Sunday, Dec. 6, 2020
Day 2, Play down to 9 players, Monday, Dec. 7
Final Table – King’s Casino, Tuesday, Dec.15, Play down to a winner
