Omar Eljach Wins 2022 WSOP Europe Main Event for €1,380,129!

After five days of exciting action, WSOP Europe has its own Main Event champion as Omar Eljach beats Jonathan Pastore in a six-hour long heads-up battle, winning his first bracelet and a grand prize of €1,380,129!

An emotional Swede could hardly put up a few words after the win “I don’t even know what to say, I can’t describe it. Incredible. It was such a draining battle and a super tough opponent. I feel relief, I feel incredible joy. Yeah… it’s an amazing feeling.”

The first to exit the final table was Alexandre Reard, chipleader of the final 42 players at the end of Day 3. 7th place finisher was a two-time bracelet winner Barny Boatman, who got Aces cracked by Shaun Deeb.

Armin Rezaei was the shortest one at the start of the day but managed to ladder twice and finished in 6th place. Only few minutes later Paul Covaciu had to hit the rails, winning €321,838 in the process. Vladas Tamasauskas was fighting as the shortest stack when 4 players were left, while fan favorite Shaun Deeb was making great plays and also running very pure, getting close to a half of all the chips in play. But it was Frenchman who eliminated Lithuanian in quite of a bad beat, pushing all-in with pair of eights, while Tamasauskas called with pair of nines, but an unlikely 8 hit the table.

At this point Shaun Deeb was pulling away from Eljach and Pastore, but as we are already used to in poker, it can quickly turn around. American first made a great laydown with trips against Pastore’s straight, but unfortunately for him, he couldn’t find another one few minutes later, which cut his stack in half.

Deeb was struggling and his stack was melting away and eventually he called Eljach’s Q3 all-in with AJ, but Swede pair his 3 on flop and Deeb was eliminated in third for €607,531.

Omar held a small lead coming into heads-up against Jonathan Pastore, but the players had 83 and 108 big blind stacks, playing very deep which set a stage for an epic six-hour HU battle. The lead has exchanged between the two numerous times. Eljach already had a 6:1 lead over Pastore, but roles have switched completely and in next hours, Pastore was the one with 5:1 chip advantage.

Flop have Frenchman a pair of eights, but turn and river was a blank and Omar Eljach is 2022 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event champion!
