Samuel Mullur Clinches First Bracelet in WSOP Paradise $25,000 GGMillion$ High Roller Championship

The first edition of WSOP Paradise is in full swing, signaling a new era in poker as the most prestigious poker series extends its reach to the Bahamas. Extending its reach is also GGMillions$, which has become a staple online on GGPoker and is now also making waves in the live tournament scene.

Event #3, the $25,000 buy-in high roller event, stood out as one of the most anticipated events at the WSOP Paradise festival. After three days of intense gameplay, Austria’s Samuel Mullur emerged victorious, claiming his first career bracelet and a staggering top prize of $2,726,300. The event not only met but exceeded its $10 million guarantee, drawing 533 entries and creating a massive prize pool exceeding $13 million.

The final day began with the last eight players, with Germany’s Daniel Smiljkovic in the lead, holding 51 big blinds. Mullur, however, started as the underdog with the shortest stack of just 15 big blinds. Early exits from the final table included Matthew Stumpf and Adrian Mateos, both falling to Smiljkovic.

But the tournament narrative shifted dramatically as it became all about Samuel Mullur. He achieved a remarkable comeback, doubling up three consecutive times, surging from a modest stack of 8 million to a commanding lead of 72 million. His momentum continued as he eliminated Klemens Roiter in 6th and Arunas Sapitavicius in 5th place. The 2020 WSOP Main Event champion, Damian Salas, was next to exit, unable to best Frank Brannan’s AK after going all-in preflop with KQ.

Mullur then solidified his lead by knocking out Smiljkovic in 3rd place, who departed with a respectable $1,192,300. The heads-up battle between Mullur and Brannan started with Frank at a 2:1 disadvantage, but he didn’t back down easily.

Throughout the intense three-hour match, both players had their moments where victory seemed within grasp, as they exchanged the lead several times. Ultimately, it was all over when Brannan pushed with QTs and Mullur woke up with KK. Austrian flopped a full house, and Brannan was left hoping for an improbable runner-runner for a straight flush or royal flush. The turn card came up blank, sealing Mullur’s victory and triggering celebrations among his rail.

In an interview with WSOP.com, Mullur reflected on his performance: “I had a couple of interesting hands… two or three hands where I’m still unsure if I made the best play. But other than that I’m really happy with how I performed.” He also acknowledged the influence of his mentors and family, saying, “I’m working with Fedor, I’m working with a couple other guys… and I’m just very happy to be a part of their team. I feel like I’m working with the best in the world and it makes me so happy to be where I’m at. Also the support of (my) family and my brother (who) was railing like crazy… shout out to all of them.”
