The Final Table
David Sosic was the first to say goodbye to the final table when he opened from HJ, got raised by Albeck, and then shoved and called by Albeck. Sosic was ahead with A♠A♥6♣5♣ against Albeck’s K♠K♣8♠8♦, but the board 10♠9♥K♦J♠3♥ was unfortunate for him as Ableck hit the set of kings and sent Sosic home in ninth place and €6,980.
Milan Skacel was the short stack when he shoved from SB over Lee’s HJ open and got called by Lee. Skacel had 7♥7♣4♠4♥ vs Lee’s A♠10♦6♠5♦, and the flop A♦J♦8♦ was one of the worst for Skacel as his opponent flopped the flush, and only runner-runner full-house could save Skacel, but the turn was 3♦, and it was over for Skacel before the 5♥ on the river rolled out. Skacel was eliminated in eighth place for €7,600.
Eran Carmi opened from UTG and was called by Saliba in BB. The flop came K♦7♦6♠, Saliba bet to put Carmi all-in, and he called. Carmi had A♠A♣J♣2♣ against Saliba’s 10♣9♠8♥8♣; Carmi was ahead but was still at risk as Saliba had an open-ended straight draw. The turn came 9♦, giving Saliba the nuts and leaving Carmi drawing dead. The river was 5♠, and Carmi was eliminated in seventh place for €11,000.
Markus Anheier opened from UTG, Albeck shoved from CO, Lee 4-bet from BTN., and Anheier called for his whole stack. Ableck had J♦9♦8♦5♥ vs Anheier’s A♠Q♣10♥9♥ vs Lee’s A♦A♣J♠5♠, and the board ran 9♣Q♥6♦10♠10♣ giving Anheier a triple up as he hit his runner-runner full-house on the turn and river. Albeck was eliminated in sixth place for €14,500.
Anheier opened from UTG, Sabic called from SB, and Hueber, who was short-stacked, shoved from BB and got called by two players. The flop came J♥9♦8♣, and both players checked. The turn came J♣, Sabic bet, and Anheier folded. Sabic went to a showdown with Q♥Q♣J♦5♣ against Hueber’s A♣5♣4♥3♥. The river was 5♦. Hueber missed his flush draw and was eliminated in fifth place for €19,700.
After eliminating Hueber, Sabic was next on the way home when he opened from SB and got called by Anheier from BB. The flop came 4♥10♥A♣, and Sabic pushed the remaining chips in the middle; Anheier called. Sabic had Q♠J♠6♠6♦ against K♣J♥7♦3♥, the turn came 4♠, and the river 8♥ was deadly for Sabic as Anheier hit the flush. Sabic was out in fourth place for €27,700.
Hokyiu Lee shoved from SB and was called by Anheier in BB. Lee had K♣7♥5♠2♣ against Anheier’s A♠K♠10♦5♠, and the board ran 5♣8♦J♠3♥3♣, and Anheier’s pair of fives was good to eliminate Lee in third place for €40,100.
The Heads Up
After the chip count went into the heads-up, Saliba was the chip leader with almost double the stack of Anheier, but the game was still not over, and there were some hands to be played.
After two levels of playing, we got the new champion, Vivian Saliba. On the last hand, Anheier limped from BTN and called a raise from Saliba in the BB. The flop came 7♥9♦4♦. Anheier was all-in on the flop, and Saliba called. Anheier was ahead with two pairs holding K♣9♣4♥2♠ vs Saliba’s A♠Q♦7♦5♠, but the turn came A♦, giving Saliba the flush and 5♥ on the river was not helpful for the Anheier, who was out in second place for €59,700.
