The 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Event #51: $1,500 Super Turbo Bounty No-Limit Hold’em Freezeout saw a massive field of 2,110 players. Even given the fast-paced Super Turbo format and the added excitement of bounties, it was expected to be a long and intense day of poker. This expectation was met as the final hand was dealt past 2 o’clock in the morning, more than 16 hours after the first cards hit the felt.
Peter Park emerged victorious, claiming his first WSOP bracelet along with a prize of $240,724 from the prize pool, plus numerous bounties worth $500 each. “Oh, I’m still coming to reality…It’s a very big deal for me,” Park said, reflecting on his win. “I was lucky enough to score several bounties early on, which allowed me to play much more loose and aggressive.”
In the heads-up, Park defeated Mark Dube, who walked away with $160,474 and his own collection of bounties for finishing in second place. For Park, a former poker professional now working in the aviation industry, this victory marks his best career live tournament result, surpassing his previous win at the Hustler Casino Player Appreciation Series in 2019 for $101,181.
The high-paced nature of the Super Turbo Bounty event meant that only some notable players made it deep into the tournament. Michael Holtz, a WSOP bracelet winner and six-time WSOP ring winner, finished in 36th place. Two-time WSOP winner Bryce Yockey ended his run in 53rd place, and three-time WSOP winner and record WSOP ring holder Ari Engel (with 17 rings) finished in 61st place.

Event #51: $1,500 Super Turbo Bounty NLHE Freezeout Final Recap
When the last ten players began the unofficial final table, the clock had already struck midnight in Event #51: $1,500 Super Turbo Bounty No-Limit Hold’em Freezeout. Qing Liu brought the most chips with 52 big blinds, followed by Adria Diaz with 32. Everyone else had less than 20 big blinds, setting the stage for hot and heavy action.
Thomas Moore was the first short-stacked victim, pushing king-five over Liu’s open who showed king-queen. A flop of 9♦K♦Q♠ left Moore practically drawing dead, confirmed by a blank turn. Joe Kuether didn’t last much longer, finding himself dominated with ace-jack against Jose Rodriguez’s ace-queen. The flop of 6♣10♥Q♥ gave Kuether a gutshot-straight draw, but the turn 4♥ and river 3♦ sent him home with $22,236 and some bounties.
Julio Novo pushed all-in on a board of 9♣10♣7♠5♣ with jack-ten, hoping to push Adria Diaz out of the main pot. Diaz called with pocket queens, which held on the river. Canadian Zhigang Yang pushed all-in with king-jack suited but ran into Park’s pocket aces. The flop of 5♥6♦4♠ was safe for Park, and although the turn A♠ gave Yang a flush draw, the river bricked, eliminating Yang in seventh.
Soon after, Park woke up with pocket aces again and received another customer, this time Jose Rodriguez, who pushed all-in with ace-jack. The board provided no help, and Park slowly edged closer to Qing Liu. Jungyang Lin, who entered the final table as the shortest stack, managed to survive five money ladders, but his run ended in fifth place. His five-six couldn’t overcome Mark Dube’s ace-jack, with the board missing both and Dube winning with an ace in his hand.
Qing Liu’s hot run ended in fourth place after Dube collected all his chips in two hands. In his last hand, Liu called an all-in with A♠2♣ after Dube put pressure on him with A♦5♣. The flop was crushing for Liu as it paired Dube’s five and gave him the nut flush draw with 5♦Q♦6♦. The turn 3s gave Liu three outs, but the river bricked, sending him to the rail with $86,821 and a bunch of bounties to his name.
Dube then eliminated his third opponent in a row, coming from behind against Diaz, who moved all-in with ace-king from the small blind. Dube saw the bad news as his ace-jack was dominated, but a jack on the turn changed everything, sending the Spaniard home in third place.
Mark Dube began the heads-up battle with a 3:2 lead over Peter Park, but that changed quickly. Dube opened the pot, and Park called in the big blind. After seeing a flop of 10♠3♠10♣, Park check-raised, and Dube moved all-in. Park had flopped trips with 10♦9♣, and Dube only had K♣3♦ to show, leaving him with just a couple of blinds as the turn and river bricked for him.
Dube put his last chips in with queen-four suited, and Park called with ace-three. The final board favored Park with 8♥8♣6♠6♣3♦, winning his first-ever bracelet in an action-packed $1,500 Super Turbo Bounty event.
