Alex Livingston is the champion of World Series of Poker event #97: $3,000 Pot-Limit Omaha (6-Handed), winning his second WSOP bracelet and $390,621. Livingston Beat the field of 844 competitors, who created a prize pool of $2,253,480. Livingston came on top in a heads-up battle against Francisco Benitez, who finished in second place, earning $260,403.
“I really do love all the games, like the 10-game, 9-game mix, and H.O.R.S.E. are my best formats, but its really nice to win one in PLO because its probably the game I’ve played the most hands in, and to get one done here really feels good.” said Livingston after the win.
Livingston is already an accomplished pro. He is currently ranked 10th in Canada’s All-Time Money List, with total live earnings of $8,834,744. His most significant live MTT cash came in 2019 when he came third in the WSOP Main Event for $4,000,000.

The Final Table
Coming into the final table action, all the players had a good amount of big blinds, but Martin Zamani was leading the pack with 144 big blinds.
Tolga Demirel was the first to leave when he called on HJ against a late position open from Zamani. The flop rolled out 9♣5♣4♠, Zamani bet, Demirel raised, Zamani reraised to put Demirel all-in, and Demirel called. Zamani had K♠10♦9♠5♠ vs Demirel’s K♣K♦8♣7♥, the turn was A♦, and the river was J♥ marking the end for Demirel who earned $45,892 for his seventh-place finish.
Zamani open-called from UTG, a shove from Cristopher Roth, who was in CO; Zamani was holding K♣K♥8♣6♥ against Roth’s A♣Q♠9♣5♣. The board ran A♦J♣4♣9♦K♠, and the river was deadly for Roth, who was out in sixth place for $62,457.
Hokyiu Lee raised from CO, and Zamani called on BTN. The flop rolled out 8♣A♦Q♠, Lee shoved, and Zamani called. Lee was ahead, and the board ran 4♦9♦, giving Zamani straight on the river. Lee was eliminated in fifth place for $96,709.
Benitez opened, and Andrew Watson 3bet from BB, which Benitez called. The flop came 4♣6♣K♥, and Watson was all-in; Benitez called. Watson had A♥J♦9♠7♥ against K♣8♦6♠5♣. The turn was 4♦, and the river was J♠. Two pairs were good for Benitez, and Watson was out in fourth place, earning $122,746.
Martin Zamani opened from SB, and Livingston called. The flop came 6♦7♠3♣, and Zamani check-raised against bet from Livingston, who snap-shoved, putting Zamani all-in. Zamani had Q♠9♠8♦7♦ vs Livingston’s K♦10♦6♣6♠, and the rest of the board was 5♣6♥ giving Zamani straight on the turn, but Livingston binked quads on the river. That was the end for Zamani, who won $177,114 for his third-place finish.
The Heads-Up
At the start of the heads-up match, Benitez was a slight favorite, having more chips, but nothing was finished since both players had enough chips to take this one down.
At one point Benitez was short stacked, he shoved preflop and got called by Livingston. Benitez had K♥Q♣J♥3♣ against Livingston’s 10♠10♦7♦5♠. The board ran 3♦4♠6♦Q♦7♥ giving Livingston the win. Benitez was eliminated in second place for $260,403.
