Clement Richez ended on top of World Series of Poker event #89: $3,000 Mid-Stakes No-Limit Hold’em Championship for $1,041,989, beating the field of 3,177 competitors, who created a prize pool of $8,482,590. Richez won a heads-up match against Adam Owen, who finished in second place, earning $694,714. This was Richez’s first WSOP bracelet.
“I’m shaking all over, I didn’t think this would give me so many emotions. I was on the verge of crying during the winner’s photo, and I’ll probably cry after this because I need to release all the pressure.” Richez said.
Clement Richez is currently ranked 237th in France’s All-Time Money List, with total live earnings of $1,506,407. This win was Richez’s most significant payout. Previously his biggest one was when he came 50th in WSOP Main Event for $188,400 in 2023

The Final Table
Going into the final table, Adam Owen was the chip leader with 68 big blinds, Clement Richez was in second place with 46, and Dimitrov was the shortest stack with just nine big blinds.
Stefan Dmitrov was also the first to leave when he opened from MP, leaving a few chips behind, and Black called from CO. The flop was K♦2♥K♠; Dmitrov checked, Black bet to put Dmitrov all-in, and Dmitrov called. Black had A♥Q♥ vs Dmitrov who had A♦10♦. Turn came 5♦ giving additional outs to Dmitrov, but the river was 8♠ ending his run. Dmitrov was eliminated in tenth place for $82,081.
David Brehme opened fomr MP and Owen called in BB. The flop was 3♥3♣9♣, Owen checked, Brehme went all-in, and Owen snap called. Brehme was holding A♣Q♣, and he needed a runner-runner miracle to stay alive since Owen flopped the “nuts” holding 9♦9♠. The turn was 8♥, and the river was 10♥ which was the end of the road for Brehme who ended in ninth place for $104,248.
Owen opened from MP with A♠Q♥, and Boris Kuzmanovic shoved from SB, holding 3♠3♥. Owen took some time to think but eventually called, putting Kuzumanovic at risk. The dealer put out 5♣2♠J♠, and Kuzmanovic gained more equity. The turn was K♥, giving Owen a few more outs, as any broadway would win him the hand. And the Q♠ on the river was deadly for Kuzmanovic, who was eliminated in eighth place for $133,479.
Andrey Pateychuk shoved with K♣10♣ from BTN, and Owen called in the BB with A♣Q♠. The board ran 8♥6♠9♠3♣J♠, and there were no kings or tens for Pateychuk, who was eliminated in seventh place for $172,285.
Taylor Black opened from BTN with A♣Q♦ and faced a shove from Clement Richez in the BB, who had A♥K♠. Black called and was behind, facing elimination. Players saw 4♣A♦10♥K♣6♣, leaving Black with only four outs on the turn, but the river was a brick. Black was eliminated in sixth place for $224,152.
Torelli opened from HJ and faced an all-in from David Uvaydov on the BB. Torelli called for about seven big blinds, and we had a flip. Torreli had 9♥9♦ against Uvaydov’s A♥10♣. The flop came 3♠Q♦6♥, and Torelli was still ahead. The turn was Q♣, and the river was 5♠ eliminating Uvaydov in fifth place for $293,590.
Dong Chen opened from BTN, and Richez shoved from BB, putting Chen in a spot. Chen counted his chips and called, but he was not happy when cards were turned over since Richez had A♥A♣, and he was behind holding K♠Q♠. The dealer put down A♦8♥10♦5♠K♦, eliminating Chen in fourth place for $338,519.
Owen opened from BTN, and Torreli defended his BB. The flop was 7♠4♣8♠, and Torreli check-shoved against Owen’s bet. Owen eventually called with J♠8♣, and was against 9♠5♠. The turn was 5♦, and the river was 2♥, which was the end of the road for Torreli, who finished in third place for $517,525.
The Heads-Up
At the beginning of the heads-up, Richez won a big hand where he gained a 2:1 chip lead before winning the whole thing. In the last hand, Owen shoved from BTN after a 3-bet from Richez, who eventually called. Richez was ahead, holding K♠9♥ against Q♠3♠. The board came 7♦K♦6♣J♦10♠, crowning Richez and eliminating Owen in second place for $694,714.
