WSOP Heads to the Paradise Bahamas with GGPoker

Following an extraordinary summer that saw the 2023 World Series of Poker break multiple records, WSOP up the ante with an announcement of a brand-new live tournament series, WSOP Paradise. The series is a collaboration between the WSOP and GGPoker and is scheduled to take place from December 3 to 14 at the luxurious Atlantis Paradise Island in the Bahamas.
The upcoming series promises to capture the essence of the World Series in Vegas, with a total of 15 bracelet events, headlined by $50 million in guaranteed prize pool.

While the full schedule hasn’t been announced yet, the flagship events include a $5,000 Main Event with a $15 million guaranteed prize pool, a $1,500 Mystery Bounty with $5 million GTD, and a GGPoker’s flagship $25,000 GG Million$ events with $10 million GTD.
GGPoker, which notably sent 774 players to the Main Event at this summer’s WSOP, has pledged to send at least 1,000 players to WSOP Paradise.

“GGPoker is delighted to launch WSOP Paradise and welcome hundreds of players from all over the world to Atlantis Paradise Island this December,” said Daniel Negreanu, GGPoker’s Ambassador. “It’s going to be an absolutely amazing experience, the best of poker at one of the world’s most luxurious resorts.”

WSOP Heads to the Paradise Bahamas with GGPokerBahamas has hosted several poker events in the past, from WPT, to PCA, partypoker Caribbean Poker Party, and more.

The announcement of WSOP Paradise has not been without controversy. Its timing has raised eyebrows in the poker community, as it coincides with the $10,400 WPT World Championship Main Event at the Wynn Las Vegas, set to take place from December 12 to 20. Moreover, some poker players are afraid that the increase in the number of bracelet events might potentially devalue the prestige associated with winning a WSOP bracelet.

Despite these potential issues, the overall sentiment in the poker community remains optimistic, as poker is evidently booming. Having a greater variety of events to choose from is ultimately beneficial for poker players, providing more opportunities to win trophies while further bolstering the promotion of the game.
