After finishing in the runner-up spot at the record-breaking France Poker Series (FPS) Main Event for €294,530, he then managed to clinch a victory in the €2,200 No Limit Hold’em – Deepstack tournament. Žerjav’s performances serve as an inspiration to both aspiring and established players, demonstrating that success is achievable with hard work and a deep understanding of the game.
The 2024 PokerStars calendar started with an extraordinary event as the EPT Paris hosted the largest-ever France Poker Series (FPS) Main Event. In this record-setting €1,100 FPS Main Event which attracted a remarkable 4,149 participants, Blaž Žerjav first captured the spotlight with his exceptional performance, battling through a massive field to reach the final showdown. Although Mateusz Moolhuizen from the Netherlands ultimately took the title and the €470,830 prize, Žerjav wasn’t too disappointed with the result and it only made him thirstier to make it all the way to the top.
And that achievement came just a few days later, when Blaž Žerjav demonstrated his prowess and resilience in the €2,200 No Limit Hold’em – Deepstack (Event #40). This tournament once again saw him face off against some of the best players from around the globe. In a masterful display of skill and strategy, Žerjav secured himself the title and a €141,680 prize after a heads-up battle against Poland’s Woźniak Mateusz, who took home $95,700. This win added to Žerjav’s growing list of accomplishments and showcased his ability to excel under pressure and adapt to the dynamics of high-stakes poker. Both of these amazing results also put Žerjav 3rd place on the Slovenian All Time Money List.
